Chuck Schumer has failed the Democratic Party and the American people. His decision to back a Republican-led spending bill — widely seen as a concession to Trump’s agenda — has sparked outrage from progressives and weakened our fight against regressive policies.

This latest betrayal is just one of many. Schumer’s leadership has been marked by caving to bad-faith Republican attacks, failing to hold powerful interests accountable, and putting political convenience over real leadership. Even House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries won’t defend him, and now, Schumer is avoiding public scrutiny by postponing his book tour amid mounting protests.

Schumer is hoping that enough time will pass and people will forget about this, but we’re not playing that game anymore. We refuse to be treated like fools while Democratic leadership sells us out and expects the outrage to fade. If we can’t win this battle, what battle can we win? The American people deserve leaders who fight for them — not ones who cave and hope no one notices.

Democrats deserve better. We need leadership that will stand firm against right-wing power grabs, fight for working families, and refuse to bow to pressure from billionaires and corporate interests. If Schumer won’t step up, he must step aside.
